How do you develop a creative communication idea that leverages on & ties in to existing strategy?

MBC International Private Placement

MBC was about to do a private placement to raise funds in the marketplace. Under regulatory rules, the bank was not allowed to market via mass media. It could only do so on a one-on-one basis. Therefore, MBC needed a creative marketing concept that could be used for materials that would be forwarded directly to potential investors.

In developing ideas, we considered existing private placements in the market (as MBC would be appealing to the same audience), the bank’s brand personality and its existing marketing mantra - Endless Possibilities.

We eventually developed a series of strong images based on traffic signs that seemed to capture MBC’s marketing message, and the theme, “Read the Signs” was chosen for the private placement marketing. All the materials for the private placement (prospectus, specialised letterheads & envelopes, bookmark tokens, web banner ads and the like) were designed by Alder.

A series of corporate adverts flowing from the conceptual theme was also developed for the bank.
