Honeywell Reflections
When the Chairman of
Honeywell Group, a Nigerian conglomerate, became perturbed with the then goings-on in Nigeria sometime in the late 90s, he instinctively wrote a prayer on the flap of an envelope and sent it to Alder, convinced we could “do something” with it.

We came up with a simple but nifty idea. Why not create a series of editorials addressed to the nation? The editorials should make people pause, ponder and reflect on the way forward for the nation. And we would add the prayer penned by the Chairman at the end.
We scripted a series of editorials dubbed “Honeywell Reflections” and published them as full page adverts in newspapers across the country. Reflections soon became a social responsibility campaign and we turned it into a marketing tool by adopting it as the chief marketing vehicle for the conglomerate. The logos of the 7 companies representing the Group were featured on the editorials, thus reducing advertising costs for these corporations by a factor of 7. The Reflections were well received in the polity creating enormous brand equity for the Group and its 7 corporations. The series became a phenomenal success and till date remains the main marketing platform for the corporation.
