Executive summary: The home was founded by Chief (Mrs) Irene V Willoughby, an American, in 1958 to care for children that are dumped at birth and have no one to cater for them. Presently the home has 123 children in residence and these include babies, toddlers and pupils of primary, secondary and tertiary institutions of learning. The children stay in this home until they reach adulthood and get married.
