The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) is the Federal Agency charged with the responsibility of developing, diversifying and promotiing non-oil export products in foreign markets. Alder has been engaged to oversee and implement the marketing of the Council locally and internationally.
Preliminary research indicated that the entity had no brand standards and there was little awareness of its role in the market. Furthermore, information about NEPC and the export sector in Nigeria was not easily accessible.
During a session with the management of NEPC, the entity's vision and mission statements were reworked to more closely communicate its objectives. The role of NEPC was further streamlined and captured in market terms. We came up with the words – Develop, Assist, Promote and Incentivise. These were further broken down into objectives from the exporters’ point of view.
The marketing materials were streamlined and a marketing plan and materials (brochures, banners, billboards, print ads, etc) were developed.
Marketing materials for the Council’s trade missions to China and Malaysia (August, 2006) were recently deployed.
The website of the council is being restructured and a dedicated contact line has been procured - 0808EXPORTS.
Consultation is ongoing.
