During the consolidation of the Nigerian banking industry, 5 banks - Indo Nigeria Bank Ltd, Magnum Trust Bank Plc, NAL Bank Plc, NBM Bank Ltd and Trust Bank Ltd came together to form a merged entity, Sterling Bank. Alder was asked to develop and execute a full branding programme for the bank.
We defined the bank's brand fundamentals, including the conceptual definition, brand personality, positioning, message, promises, pillars and eroders. We also profiled key brand publics, set specific brand objectives and put in place brand policy documents to guide the development of the brand over time.
The logo and visual identity materials were developed as well as a graphics standards manual. A website template was designed. In addition, an employee brand manual was scripted to guide the staff acculturation process.
The brand was launched in 5 cities across the nation and Alder developed all communication materials for the launch, including a documentary.
